Job Overview

A nationally respected law firm is seeking a Partner-level Employment Law Attorney to lead and expand its Employment Law practice within its Fort Lauderdale flagship office. This is a strategic leadership role ideal for a seasoned employment law attorney who is entrepreneurial, client-focused, and ready to mentor a growing team. This position combines litigation expertise, practice development, and internal leadership in a collaborative and growth-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Practice & Case Management

  • Manage complex employment law matters including:

    • Discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage & hour claims, FMLA, and compliance issues

  • Represent corporate clients before state/federal courts, EEOC, and DOL

  • Provide ongoing legal advice and risk mitigation strategies to employers

Client Development & Relationship Management

  • Grow and manage a robust portfolio of business clients

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients with strategic, tailored legal guidance

  • Collaborate with Business Development and Marketing teams

  • Participate in speaking engagements, CLEs, and industry events

Team Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead a team of attorneys and legal staff in the Employment Law Unit

  • Mentor junior attorneys and encourage professional development

  • Participate in strategic planning for the department and firm-wide initiatives

Cross-Practice Collaboration

  • Work closely with attorneys across practice groups, including General Liability and Corporate

  • Develop integrated legal solutions in collaboration with other Unit Leads

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Florida Bar

  • Minimum 5 years of employment law defense experience

  • Proven experience managing or mentoring attorneys or teams

  • Portable book of business strongly preferred or a demonstrated ability to develop business
