Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney with over one year of experience for its Miami, FL office. The candidate should be admitted to practice in Florida and will work under the supervision of a partner, handling cases in Labor and Employment law and General Liability. This role offers extensive training and is ideal for those with a strong work ethic interested in defense litigation.

Duties

  • Draft, review, and respond to petitions, complaints, motions, and written discovery.
  • Attend hearings and meetings with clients as needed.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions.
  • Assist with preparation for and participate in mediation and trial.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Florida bar license in good standing.
  • Minimum of one year of civil defense litigation experience.
  • Experience managing up to 30 cases simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in taking and defending depositions, court appearances, and drafting motions and discovery.
  • Experience in mediation and trial is a plus.
  • Mentoring experience is advantageous.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in Florida.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer operations.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
