A law firm is seeking an Insurance Coverage/Bad Faith Defense Attorney:

Job Overview: The Insurance Coverage/Bad Faith Defense Attorney will be responsible for managing complex insurance coverage and bad faith litigation cases, conducting investigations, drafting legal documents, and providing detailed coverage opinions. This role requires strong legal expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Duties:

  • Independently manage cases through the litigation process, both autonomously and as part of the case team.
  • Conduct thorough fact investigations to gather evidence and build a robust defense.
  • Handle document productions and assist with various discovery tasks.
  • Prepare witnesses for deposition, ensuring their readiness for effective testimony.
  • Take and defend depositions, representing the firm's clients during legal proceedings.
  • Draft pleadings, briefs, and motions to advance the legal argument.
  • Review and analyze insurance policies, contracts, and other legal documents to support cases.
  • Prepare comprehensive insurance coverage opinions based on legal analysis.
  • Prepare for court hearings and attend as required.
  • Contribute to trial preparation and attend trials as needed.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance coverage/bad faith litigation defense.
  • Active licensure in both Missouri and Kansas is required.
  • Ideal candidates will also be licensed in Arkansas.
  • The ability to work independently on complex insurance coverage and bad faith cases.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong legal writing and contract and legal analysis skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar admission in Missouri and Kansas (Arkansas licensure preferred).

Skills:

  • Legal research and analysis expertise.

  • Witness preparation and deposition skills.
