Job Overview:
A Saint Louis-based law firm is seeking a dedicated Pre-Litigation Attorney to enhance its personal injury practice. This in-office role involves managing a high-volume caseload and working collaboratively with a skilled support team. The position emphasizes client communication, strategic negotiation, and settlement optimization for injury victims. Ideal candidates will demonstrate empathy, legal acumen, and a commitment to securing favorable outcomes for clients.

Duties:

• Maintain oversight of roughly 150 active personal injury claims

• Act as the primary point of legal contact for clients, offering consistent updates and support

• Assess cases to determine liability, damages, and realistic settlement valuations

• Monitor medical treatment to ensure proper documentation for case resolution

• Compose comprehensive demand packages emphasizing case strengths

• Engage with insurance representatives to secure advantageous settlements

• Address insurance coverage matters and handle policy limit discussions as necessary

• Counsel clients on proposed settlements, outlining available options and potential outcomes

• Coordinate with litigation attorneys when matters require escalation

• Resolve lien and subrogation matters to protect and maximize client compensation

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years handling auto accident claims in a pre-litigation role

• Admitted to practice law in both Illinois and Missouri

• Proven experience interacting with insurers and healthcare providers

• Proficiency in legal writing, research, and case evaluation

• Demonstrated success in client advocacy and settlement negotiation

• Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills

• Ability to manage a demanding caseload while maintaining quality representation

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited institution

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing with the State Bar(s) of Missouri and Illinois

Skills:

• Case valuation and negotiation techniques

• Drafting persuasive legal correspondence

• Familiarity with personal injury protocols and medical terminology
