Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Chesterfield, MO, is currently seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to support its legal team through a recruiting partner. The position centers on real estate matters, litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings involving mortgage lenders. The ideal candidate will bring legal acumen, adaptability, and a willingness to obtain additional state licenses if necessary.

Duties:

• Represent financial institutions in real estate-related legal matters

• Handle litigation involving mortgage default, foreclosure, and recovery

• Participate in bankruptcy proceedings related to creditor rights

• Draft and review legal documents, motions, and court filings

• Attend hearings, depositions, and court proceedings as needed

• Conduct legal research to support case strategy and compliance

• Collaborate with internal legal staff and external stakeholders

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in Missouri

• Willingness to seek bar admission in Kansas and Kentucky (firm-supported)

• Experience practicing law, preferably in real estate or creditor rights

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage caseload and meet procedural deadlines

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Missouri Bar license (required)

• Eligibility or intent to obtain the Kansas and Kentucky Bar licenses (preferred)

Skills:

• Legal drafting and analysis

• Real estate transaction and litigation knowledge

• Familiarity with bankruptcy procedures

• Case management and client communication

• Courtroom presentation and legal research
