Job Overview:

The Equipment Leasing Attorney will provide legal counsel and support in commercial lending and equipment finance transactions. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in Articles 2A and/or 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code and exceptional drafting, negotiating, and relationship-building skills.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on equipment leasing and financing matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate equipment leasing agreements, finance documents, and related contracts.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents.
  • Assist in due diligence reviews and transactional documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to facilitate smooth transactions.
  • Handle any legal disputes or issues arising during equipment leasing transactions.

Requirements:

  • At least 3+ years of experience in commercial lending and/or equipment finance transactions.
  • Proficiency in Articles 2A and/or 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code.
  • Strong drafting and legal writing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and build strong professional relationships.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work independently.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar in Minnesota or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • Any additional certifications or specialized training in commercial law or finance (preferred).

Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
