Senior Associate

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Associate in New York, NY to analyze and assist partners in identifying regulatory issues and formulating customized hedging structures. Remote work may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite.

Duties

• Advise and represent bank and corporate clients in structuring complex over-the-counter equity and fixed-income derivative transactions.
• Draft, negotiate, and finalize legal documents in derivatives, capital markets, and financing transactions.
• Conduct analysis and assist partners in structuring viable hedging strategies for bespoke derivatives transaction structures.
• Analyze and propose transaction structures to resolve legal issues under various regulatory regimes.
• Plan, propose, and finalize strategies to allocate transaction risks and regulatory compliance burdens among trade and hedge counterparties.
• Conduct concurrent reviews of derivatives transactions and related documentation with specialists to identify and resolve legal issues.

Requirements

• JD, LLM, or foreign equivalent.
• Four years of experience as an Associate or related occupation.
• Admitted to practice law in the State of New York.

Education

• JD, LLM, or foreign equivalent required.

Certifications

• Admitted to practice law in New York.

Skills

• Experience in advising and representing clients in complex derivative transactions.
• Proficiency in drafting and negotiating legal documents in derivatives and capital markets.
• Ability to analyze and propose solutions for regulatory compliance and transaction structuring.
