A law firm is seeking a Senior Criminal Defense Attorney for their Modesto, CA, location.

Job Overview:

The Senior Criminal Defense Attorney will manage their caseload, handle client interaction, and collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team of Attorneys and legal assistants.

Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draw up legal documents related to their cases
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and advise them on strategies
• Manage court appearances, trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and legal research
• Analyze probable case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents
• Manage the workload of cases efficiently
• Provide legal analysis to clients to determine case benefits
• Accrue additional evidence to support clients' cases or argue against prosecution charges
• Prepare clients for depositions and gather information from witnesses and experts supporting client positions
• Handle criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels
• Collaborate as a team player, assisting and strategizing with fellow associates
• Utilize exceptional interpersonal skills

Requirements:

• Experience handling criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels
• Strong interpersonal skills
• J.D. degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the California State Bar
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education & Certifications:

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the California State Bar
