A law firm in Phoenix is seeking a Junior to Mid-level Associate Attorney with a focus on patent preparation and prosecution. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, a degree in electrical engineering or computer science, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. This individual must possess excellent communication and writing skills, along with a proven track record in a law firm setting.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct patent preparation and prosecution activities in the fields of electrical engineering, computer science, software-related technologies, data science/AI, networking technologies (with emphasis on network security), machine learning/artificial intelligence, and hardware security.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and inventors to gather necessary information for patent applications.
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters and assist in patent portfolio management.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.
  • Degree in electrical engineering or computer science.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

 

Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
