Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Los Angeles is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney specializing in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in federal and state court litigation. This position is based in the firm's Downtown Los Angeles office, and the candidate must be admitted to practice law in California. The role offers the opportunity to handle cases independently while working closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategies.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation.
  • Analyze probable outcomes of cases and provide insights to guide case strategy.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, keeping them updated on case progress and advising them on their legal rights.
  • Prepare and draft legal briefs, motions, pleadings, and other essential documents.
  • Represent clients in federal and state courts, including attending hearings, depositions, and other case-related events.
  • Manage and litigate cases independently, with limited partner supervision.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys in trial preparation and strategy development.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial litigation, with experience in both federal and state courts.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in California.
  • Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High professional ethics and integrity.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • California State Bar Admission (Required).

  • Ability to independently manage and litigate cases.
