Associate Attorney - Litigation

A law firm seeks an associate attorney with 2-5 years of experience to join its civil litigation defense team in Los Angeles, California. Duties

• Coordinate with clients and co-counsel during all phases of discovery.
• Manage all facets of cases from discovery through trial.
• Organize and maintain case files; coordinate with secretaries and staff.
• Review and analyze discovery requests and prepare responses.
• Supervise document reviews with legal team, clients, and vendors.
• Assist with document reviews for responsiveness and privilege.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
• Prepare standard court filings.
• Keep accurate time records for client billing.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor Degree.
• Active license and good standing with California State Bar.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Experience in habitability defense litigation preferred.
• Experience in taking and defending depositions.
• Experience in reporting to insurance carriers preferred.
• Experience in preparing and arguing demurrers, motions to strike, and motions for summary adjudication/judgment preferred.
• Familiarity with written and oral discovery required.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Education

• Juris Doctor Degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in California.
