Job Overview:
A law firm located in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a mid-level associate with specialized experience in government procurement and contract law. This opportunity involves working within a dynamic legal team handling matters across the full lifecycle of federal and state government contracts, with responsibilities ranging from compliance advisory to litigation support. Duties:

  • Represent clients in federal and state bid protest proceedings, including GAO, COFC, and agency-level challenges

  • Handle claims under the Contract Disputes Act and related statutes

  • Provide strategic counsel regarding FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific acquisition regulations

  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, and memoranda for government contract disputes

  • Support clients on compliance matters related to public-sector contracting

  • Conduct legal research related to grants, cooperative agreements, and procurement-related compliance

  • Engage in all phases of litigation concerning government contracts, including discovery and oral advocacy

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of substantive experience focused on government contracts

  • Demonstrated expertise in federal procurement law, including litigation and counseling components

  • Proficiency in bid protests, claims, and compliance under FAR and DFARS

  • Familiarity with U.S. Government grants and cooperative agreements is strongly preferred

  • Strong research, analytical, and legal writing abilities

  • Admitted in good standing to the bar of Maryland or the District of Columbia

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in Maryland or Washington, D.C.

Skills:

  • Deep understanding of public procurement regulations and the government contracting lifecycle

  • Exceptional legal writing and oral advocacy skills

  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving in regulatory and litigation settings
