Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Electrical and Computer Technologies Associate in Boston. This role offers the chance to engage with both Electrical & Computer Technologies and Biotechnology practice groups, focusing on innovative patent prosecution work.

Duties

• Interface with clients and inventors throughout the patent process.
• Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications in the U.S. and internationally.
• Conduct freedom-to-operate, infringement, and patentability analyses.
• Assist in additional responsibilities or projects as needed.

Requirements

• 3-8 years of patent prosecution experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of machine learning, molecular biology, and sequencing technology.
• Familiarity with gene editing, immunology, microscopy, and systems biology is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings.

Education

• Degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related field.
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to the USPTO.
