Job Overview

A prominent law firm is seeking a mid-level Real Estate Associate with 3–5 years of experience to join its Washington, D.C. office. This position focuses on complex and high-volume commercial real estate transactions. The role provides the opportunity to represent institutional equity investors, private equity real estate funds, and lenders in all phases of the investment cycle, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and joint ventures.

Location

  • Washington, D.C.

Duties

  • Handle commercial real estate transactions, including:

    • Acquisitions and dispositions

    • Real estate financings

    • Joint venture structuring and documentation

  • Represent institutional investors and private equity funds in all stages of the investment lifecycle

  • Draft, negotiate, and review real estate transaction documents

  • Collaborate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to manage deal execution

  • Conduct due diligence and title/survey review

  • Provide strategic legal advice related to commercial real estate investments

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant commercial real estate legal experience

  • Experience must include at least two of the following: acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and financings

  • Proven ability to manage complex, time-sensitive transactions

  • Excellent client service and project management capabilities

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

  • Graduation year: JD class of 2020–2022

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in the District of Columbia, or eligibility to waive in

Skills

  • Superior legal drafting and negotiation skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • High attention to detail and organizational ability

  • Effective team collaboration and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing matters simultaneously in a high-volume practice
