A law firm in Plano, TX, is seeking a skilled Non-Judicial Foreclosure Associate Attorney to manage cases focusing on residential real estate litigation, mortgage, and transactional matters. The successful candidate will protect clients' interests in litigation proceedings and general collection cases while actively participating in marketing initiatives and business development efforts.

 

Duties:

  • Manage cases emphasizing residential real estate litigation, mortgage, and transactional matters
  • Attend mediations, trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings
  • Travel as needed for case requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Write articles and make presentations to clients and trade associations
  • Prioritize multiple projects and cases
  • Assist with other duties and special projects as needed

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • Membership in the Texas state Bar with maintained licensing and continuing legal education requirements
  • Minimum of five years of litigation/courtroom experience (foreclosure experience a plus)
  • Subject matter expertise in foreclosure and real estate law
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing
  • Proficiency in taking and defending depositions
  • Experience drafting legal documents including pleadings, briefs, affidavits, and discovery materials
  • Proficiency with legal research tools like Fastcase or Westlaw
  • Strong understanding of rules of evidence and civil procedure in both state and federal court
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
