Senior Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Senior Attorney to join its General Litigation group in Manhattan, NY. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling defense of general liability and property claims, with a preference for those familiar with Labor Law. The role requires strong organizational, writing, and analytical skills, and offers an opportunity to work in a diverse and collaborative environment.

Duties

• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including discovery.
• Ensure meticulous compliance with billing and reporting guidelines.
• Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
• Conduct complex legal research and discovery.
• Draft discovery demands, motions, case evaluations, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda.

Requirements

• Admitted to practice in NY; NJ admission is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience as an attorney in a defense firm.
• Strong case management and advocacy skills.
• Experience drafting briefs and pleadings, and taking and defending depositions.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Westlaw and/or Lexis.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admitted to the New York State Bar.
