Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is actively seeking a skilled eDiscovery Attorney to support its Litigation and Information Management group. This is a non-partnership track position offering the opportunity to work on complex litigation matters involving all aspects of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM). The ideal candidate will possess strong legal, technical, and project management skills, and will demonstrate a commitment to excellence and teamwork within a fast-paced legal environment.

Location:

  • Chicago, IL

Duties:

  • Manage eDiscovery responsibilities for complex litigation cases

  • Supervise project timelines, budget controls, and workflow standards

  • Draft and negotiate discovery protocols, protective orders, and ESI agreements

  • Act as a liaison with case teams, partners, and clients for eDiscovery planning and status updates

  • Coordinate the collection and processing of data in collaboration with clients and vendors

  • Develop and manage document review workflows, including quality control procedures

  • Create accurate project budgets and forecasts; manage invoice review

  • Oversee document productions to ensure legal compliance and accuracy

  • Train and guide review attorneys to maintain high standards of performance

  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of eDiscovery experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or government agency

  • Familiarity with all phases of the EDRM lifecycle

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under tight deadlines

  • Strong leadership and organizational capabilities

  • Bar admission in the jurisdiction of practice

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LL.M.) from an accredited institution

Certifications:

  • Active license and in good standing with a U.S. state bar (required)

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Exceptional problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities

  • Proficiency with legal technologies and document review platforms

  • High attention to detail and time management skills
