Job Overview:
A well-established, client-focused law firm in New York City is currently seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney to join their dynamic team. With a strong focus on personal injury law, the firm handles a diverse range of cases, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall incidents, police misconduct, wage and hour claims, and breaches of contract. The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of litigation experience and a passion for fighting on behalf of individuals who have been harmed due to negligence or misconduct.

Duties:

• Represent clients in personal injury and related matters, including but not limited to motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall incidents, police misconduct, and wage-and-hour claims.
• Handle a diverse caseload from initiation through to resolution, including trial preparation.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
• Prepare and present cases at trial, managing depositions, pre-trial motions, and court appearances.
• Build and maintain effective communication with clients, ensuring they are well informed throughout the case lifecycle.
• Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and expert witnesses to strengthen cases.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar (federal court admission is a plus).
• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, with a focus on plaintiff-side personal injury cases.
• Extensive knowledge of personal injury law, including relevant statutes and court procedures.
• Proven experience in handling cases to a successful resolution.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Effective negotiation and settlement capabilities.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage a high volume of cases.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (Federal court admission is preferred).
