Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney

A law firm in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney. The ideal candidate will be responsible for taking depositions and making appearances at the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, assuming responsibility for cases at all levels of complexity. The role includes communication with clients, developing strategies for efficient case resolution, negotiating and settling cases, drafting pleadings and reports, and handling all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation. The candidate must hold a valid CA Bar License. The attorney will play a pivotal role in handling workers’ compensation cases, from depositions to appearances at the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. The position involves assuming responsibility for cases, developing efficient case resolution strategies, and handling various aspects of workers’ compensation litigation.

Duties:

• Take depositions and make appearances at the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board.
• Assume responsibility for cases at all levels of complexity.
• Communicate with clients.
• Develop strategies for the efficient resolution of cases.
• Negotiate and settle cases-in-chief as well as liens.
• Draft pleadings and reports.
• Handle all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation.
