Job Overview

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Sacramento, California office. The position offers hands-on involvement in defending employment-related lawsuits, including single-plaintiff claims and wage and hour class actions. This role provides valuable opportunities to engage directly with clients, develop case strategy, and represent them at mediations, depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings. Duties

  • Defend clients in a range of employment litigation matters including:

    • Single-plaintiff employment lawsuits

    • Wage and hour class actions

  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery

  • Participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and client meetings

  • Develop legal strategies in coordination with partners and clients

  • Advise clients on employment-related legal issues and compliance

  • Maintain case documentation and meet all court-related deadlines

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of litigation experience, preferably in labor and employment law

  • Ability to handle multiple active matters with varying deadlines

  • Familiarity with both state and federal employment law procedures

  • Eagerness to participate in all aspects of litigation, including client interaction and courtroom representation

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar

Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong legal research, analysis, and writing abilities

  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality

  • Proficient in time and project management

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
