Associate Attorney needed for Long Beach office

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Long Beach, CA office.

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will provide legal representation to clients in insurance coverage/defense matters. This role requires strong litigation experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle various aspects of case preparation and presentation.

Duties:

• Handle litigation matters related to insurance coverage/defense.
• Conduct legal research and analysis.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Prepare for and conduct depositions.
• Participate in motion practice and discovery disputes.
• Assist in trial preparation and courtroom appearances.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.

Requirements:

• JD degree from an excellent, ABA-approved law school.
• An active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
• 1-2 years of experience in litigation, preferably in insurance coverage/defense.
• Strong oral advocacy skills, with experience presenting cases to judges and juries.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Familiarity with motion practice, discovery procedures, and trial preparation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

• Litigation experience in insurance coverage/defense.
• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
• Strong oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
