Job Overview

A law firm seeks an attorney with at least four years of experience to join a full-time, non-remote, partnership-track associate position in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have experience in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, development agreements, operating agreements, and commercial agreements within the traditional energy sectors.

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate gathering, transportation, processing, supply, and offtake agreements.
  • Engage in agreements related to carbon capture or other energy transition projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of relevant legal experience.
  • Experience in traditional energy sectors, including upstream and midstream oil and gas.
  • Texas bar membership preferred; required within one year of joining.
  • Located in or willing to relocate to Houston, TX.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas or eligible for admission within one year.

Skills

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage complex transactions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
