Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney for their Tysons Corner, VA office. The ideal candidate should have 2-6 years of legal experience and must fulfill the following duties and requirements:

Job Overview:

• Position: Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney
• Location: Tysons Corner, VA

Duties:

• Conduct patent prosecution, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
• Provide legal advice and counsel on intellectual property matters, particularly in patent law.
• Assist in patent portfolio management and strategy development.
• Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Communicate with clients and stakeholders regarding patent matters.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2-6 years of legal experience.
• Experience in intellectual property law with a focus on drafting and patent prosecution.
• Background in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar field.
• Design engineering experience with a chip company is a plus.
• Preference for candidates with experience in networking, software, 3G/4G/5G wireless networks, or related areas.
• Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.
• Bar licensure in California is a plus.

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in at least one state.
• Membership in good standing with the USPTO.
