Pre-Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Pre-Litigation Attorney in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves working within the Personal Injury department and collaborating with Workers' Compensation and other departments. The attorney will manage pre-litigation cases, ensuring optimal outcomes for clients through negotiation, mediation, or court proceedings.

Duties

• Oversee and manage up to 250 pre-litigation matters with case managers.
• Assist in the management of medical treatment for pre-litigation cases.
• Direct investigations on pre-litigation and potential litigation matters.
• Negotiate pre-litigation settlements and evaluate case valuations.
• Identify and retain necessary medical and legal experts.
• Supervise up to five pre-litigation case managers.
• Maintain communication with clients and staff throughout claims.
• Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents for court.
• Participate in depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
• Prepare for arbitration and trial, and conduct monthly file reviews.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate degree and good standing with CA State Bar.
• Minimum three years of experience in a Personal Injury law firm.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Workers' Compensation terminology.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.

Education

• Juris Doctorate degree.

• Current good standing with CA State Bar.

Skills

• Knowledge of medical and legal experts, mediators, and judges.
• Ability to settle cases and negotiate medical liens.
• Proficiency in MS Office and online research tools like LEXIS-NEXIS.
