Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly skilled Employment Attorney to join their legal team in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This role involves advising and representing clients on a wide range of employment and labor matters, including discrimination, compliance, union relations, and employee handbook development.

Duties

  • Assist clients with internal investigations of employment complaints and respond to EEOC charges.
  • Provide legal counsel on labor matters, including collective bargaining and grievance proceedings.
  • Develop and implement employee handbooks, HR policies, and training materials.
  • Advise on termination processes and executive separations.
  • Draft and negotiate executive separation packages and exit agreements.
  • Partner with clients on resolving employee relations issues.
  • Provide guidance on leave and accommodation issues under ADA and FMLA.
  • Collaborate with litigation teams in employment-law disputes.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law.
  • 5-7 years of employment-law experience, focusing on EEOC, ADA, and union matters.
  • Experience with labor-union or collective-bargaining issues preferred.
  • Litigation experience is a plus.

Education
