IP Litigation Associate

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced associate to join its fast-growing Intellectual Property Litigation group in San Francisco. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of complex IP litigation experience, with a strong background in federal court or U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) proceedings. This is a dynamic opportunity for attorneys looking to deepen their litigation expertise in high-stakes intellectual property matters.

Location:

• San Francisco, CA

Duties:

• Represent clients in complex intellectual property litigation in federal courts and before the ITC

• Draft and respond to motions, conduct legal research, and manage discovery

• Take and defend depositions of experts, fact witnesses, and corporate representatives

• Collaborate with technical experts to prepare for hearings and trial

• Support case strategy development in coordination with senior attorneys and clients

• Prepare for and participate in hearings, pretrial proceedings, and trials

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of intellectual property litigation experience

• Experience in federal court and/or ITC proceedings required

• Demonstrated experience with depositions strongly preferred

• Strong case management and client communication experience desirable

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

• Excellent academic performance required

Certifications:

• Admission to the California Bar or eligibility to obtain admission promptly

Skills:

• Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities

• High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines under pressure

• Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and client-service skills

• Technically proficient and comfortable working on patent-heavy cases
