Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Investment Management and Securities practice in Hamilton, NJ. The ideal candidate will be self-directed and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

  • Monitor, identify, and advise clients on regulatory changes.
  • Handle matters related to investment adviser and broker-dealer regulatory and compliance topics.
  • Provide compliance and regulatory support to a diverse investment advisory client base.
  • Offer guidance on issues associated with investment advisers, hedge funds, and broker-dealers.
  • Draft, review, and revise advisory agreements and support practical business matters.

Requirements

  • Law Degree required.
  • Member of the New Jersey Bar.
  • 2+ years of related legal experience.
  • Experience in a law firm or in-house compliance/legal department preferred.
  • Working knowledge of laws and regulations governing investment advisers, broker-dealers, and hedge funds.
  • Familiarity with UCITS funds, the Securities Exchange Act, and FINRA regulations.
  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar.
