Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Staff Immigration Attorney in Portland, Oregon. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support immigrant rights and empower lives within a collaborative and mission-driven environment.

Duties

  • Represent clients in family-based petitions, waivers, naturalization, humanitarian cases, removal defense, and appeals.
  • Assess immigration options and guide clients through the legal process.
  • Draft and review immigration applications, petitions, appeals, and motions.
  • Provide informed legal advice and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to refine case strategies.
  • Stay current on immigration laws, policies, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in immigration law, including removal defense and family-based immigration.
  • Experience with high-volume caseloads while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience handling various immigration applications.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in any state (Oregon bar membership preferred or willingness to obtain).

Skills

  • Fluent English and proficient in Spanish (preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and time management skills.
  • Passion for immigration advocacy and human rights.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of immigration law and USCIS processes.
