Job Overview

A law firm seeks a bilingual (Spanish/English) Associate Immigration Attorney in Portland, Oregon. This full-time, hybrid position requires a passionate advocate for immigrant rights, offering the opportunity to work on diverse immigration cases in a collaborative environment.

Duties

  • Represent clients in family-based petitions, waivers, naturalization, humanitarian cases, removal defense, and appeals.
  • Work closely with clients to assess immigration options and guide them through the legal process.
  • Conduct legal research to develop case strategies and provide informed advice.
  • Draft and review immigration applications, petitions, appeals, and motions for relief.
  • Represent clients before USCIS, Dept of State, EOIR, and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to refine case strategies and contribute to a supportive work environment.
  • Stay updated on immigration laws, policies, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar membership in any State, with a preference for Oregon or willingness to join the Oregon State bar.
  • At least two years of experience in immigration law, including removal defense and family-based immigration.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for immigration advocacy and human rights.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and ability to work with diverse clients.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in any State, with a preference for Oregon.
