A law firm in Montgomery is actively seeking a dynamic Managed Care Associate Attorney with a robust background in managed care, specializing in provider contract and billing disputes, medical necessity, level of care, and coordination of benefits. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the field, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and have a desire to take immediate responsibility for legal matters. The candidate should be motivated, personable, articulate, and capable of effective collaboration. This role requires prior experience in a law firm setting, with a focus on general litigation and/or arbitration.

 

Duties:

  • Manage and navigate provider contract and billing disputes related to managed care.
  • Handle legal aspects of medical necessity, level of care, and coordination of benefits cases.
  • Oversee out-of-network payor provider litigation matters.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to assuming immediate responsibility for legal matters.
  • Engage in legal research, analysis, and brief writing.
  • Participate in oral arguments and other legal proceedings.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal legal teams and external stakeholders.

 

Requirements:

  • 4-7 years of relevant experience in general litigation and/or arbitration.
  • Strong academic credentials with an emphasis on writing skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the field of managed care.
  • Proven experience in a law firm environment.
  • Motivated, personable, and articulate with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Bar license in at least one of the following states: California, Texas, or Florida (preferred).

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Preferred law school experience includes law clerk internships, moot court, or law review/journal participation.

 

Certifications:

Bar license in at least one of the preferred states: California, Texas, or Florida.

 

Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of managed care, including provider contract and billing disputes.
  • Proficient in legal research, analysis, and brief writing.
