Job Overview: A law firm seeks a Mid-Level Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of general finance experience, including drafting and negotiating commitment papers, security agreements, credit agreements, and other loan documents. The ideal candidate will have UCC experience as well as general corporate experience. High academic achievement and solid law firm experience are preferred.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate commitment papers, security agreements, credit agreements, and other loan documents.
  • Provide legal advice and support on general finance matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to finance and corporate law issues.
  • Assist with due diligence processes for finance transactions.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior associates on various legal matters.
  • Prepare and review legal documents and contracts.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • 3-6 years of experience in general finance law.
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting and negotiating finance-related documents.
  • Strong understanding of UCC laws and regulations.
  • Experience in corporate law preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.

Education:
