Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Energy Regulatory Associate to join its team in Raleigh, North Carolina. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic regulatory practice, representing major utility clients in various proceedings and transactions. This role offers significant client exposure and opportunities to participate in trial-type regulatory proceedings.

Duties

  • Represent clients in regulatory proceedings before public service commissions.
  • Support natural gas companies in rate case proceedings and settlement negotiations.
  • Assist with energy regulatory aspects of transactions involving utility assets.
  • Engage in compliance work for utilities and energy companies.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of energy regulatory or civil litigation experience preferred.
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong communication skills.
  • Project management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to client service and teamwork.
  • NC bar membership or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in North Carolina or eligibility for reciprocity.
