Job Title: Counsel

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm located in Ridgeland, MS is seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to join its Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, and Healthcare Litigation practice. This role involves leading complex defense strategies, contributing to multi-jurisdictional trial teams, and managing high-stakes litigation matters from inception through resolution. The ideal candidate will bring advanced experience in electronic discovery, deposition practice, and legal writing, with a focus on defending major healthcare and life sciences clients.

Duties:

  • Provide strategic legal representation for clients in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and medical device sectors

  • Conduct case analysis, strategy development, discovery coordination, and witness preparation

  • Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and key witnesses

  • Draft, argue, and respond to motions in state and federal court

  • Prepare detailed legal briefs and research memorandums on complex litigation issues

  • Utilize advanced tools for predictive coding, analytics, and privilege log workflows in document review

  • Design and implement e-discovery and redaction procedures across multiple platforms

  • Create and maintain deposition kits and witness prep materials for trial teams

Requirements:

  • Proven litigation experience, preferably in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or mass tort defense

  • Deep knowledge of electronic discovery processes, including the use of AI tools and automated redaction technologies

  • Strong command of privilege review protocol and document production standards

  • Demonstrated success in drafting legal memoranda and managing procedural litigation workflows

  • Licensed to practice law in Mississippi or an adjacent jurisdiction

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in Mississippi (or eligibility for waiver/admission in the surrounding state)

Skills:
