Job Overview

A dynamic law firm is seeking a Foreclosure and Collections Attorney with experience managing high-volume matters and complex legal files. This role is ideal for a licensed attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong command of legal principles related to foreclosure, collections, and creditor rights. The position involves hands-on file management, document review, legal research, and staff oversight to meet client objectives and ensure regulatory compliance.

Location

Duties

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in foreclosure and collections law

  • Provide legal guidance and compliance support across assigned files and jurisdictions

  • Conduct legal research on unfamiliar or complex legal concepts

  • Review and execute legal documents for accuracy and legal sufficiency

  • Communicate clearly with clients, staff, and stakeholders regarding case updates and requirements

  • Oversee law firm staff to ensure timely progress on case files

  • Ensure ethical and legal compliance across all documents and client communications

  • Participate in firm-wide workgroups, client calls, and strategy meetings

  • Evaluate aged files, remove delays, and support file movement toward milestones

  • Respond to legal escalations and inquiries with risk-aware decision-making

  • Mentor junior attorneys and legal staff, sharing legal insights and best practices

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

  • Admission to the Delaware Bar in good standing (additional state licenses a plus)

  • Experience in foreclosure, collections

  • Strong understanding of legal ethics, client confidentiality, and state-specific compliance rules

  • Ability to manage large caseloads while maintaining attention to detail

  • Willingness to expand into additional practice areas or jurisdictions as needed

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Delaware (additional bar admissions preferred)

  • Must maintain “good standing” status with all licensed jurisdictions

Skills

  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows OS

  • Knowledge of Adobe or Nuance Power PDF tools

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Ability to lead and collaborate with legal support teams

  • Comfortable using new legal technology platforms and client portals

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and responsive to deadlines and performance metrics
