A law firm seeks a skilled Associate Attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience to join its Consumer and Employee Rights Group in San Francisco. The ideal candidate will be passionate about social justice and have experience in employment law, consumer rights, and class action litigation. The position offers an opportunity to take on significant case responsibilities in both state and federal courts, including depositions, motions, and trial work.

Duties

  • Represent clients in consumer rights, employee rights, and general commercial litigation matters.
  • Handle cases in both state and federal courts, as well as administrative agency proceedings.
  • Take responsibility for major case aspects, including depositions and dispositive motions.
  • Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide legal research and strategic advice to clients regarding employment law and consumer rights issues.
  • Advocate on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants in various legal settings.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of litigation experience in state and federal courts.
  • Experience in employment law and class actions is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage complex litigation and client relationships.
  • Strong commitment to social justice and advocacy for consumer and employee rights.
  • Active admission to the California Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the California Bar.

Skills

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong case management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and strategize effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interactions.
  • Experience with trial preparation and advocacy.
