Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Louisville, Kentucky, to join their team specializing in immigration law. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with the firm's founder, focusing on family-based immigration and expanding into compliance and corporate immigration strategy.

Duties

  • Handle a diverse caseload of family-based immigration matters, including I-130s, AOS, consular processing, K-1s, I-751s, and related filings.
  • Communicate directly with clients, providing guidance with clarity and compassion.
  • Support and lead compliance projects, including I-9 audits and employer training.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and legal assistants to manage workflow and ensure high-quality filings.
  • Participate in process improvement, training, and firm-wide initiatives to enhance client experience.

Requirements

  • J.D. and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
  • Minimum 3 years of immigration experience, preferably with a focus on family-based cases or compliance.
  • Strong writing, organizational, and client communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in-office in Louisville, KY, with hybrid flexibility after 6 months.
  • A self-starter with intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in learning new areas of immigration law.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.

Certifications

  • Active law license in at least one U.S. state.
