Job Overview

A law firm seeks a motivated Labor Attorney with over two years of experience to join their team in Woodinville, Washington. The ideal candidate will have a passion for labor law and a commitment to advancing the interests of public sector employees, particularly within public safety unions. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys on complex labor issues.

Duties

  • Provide legal representation and counsel to public sector labor unions, focusing on public safety organizations.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
  • Represent unions and members in arbitrations, mediations, and administrative hearings.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and other documents related to labor disputes.
  • Advise clients on compliance with state and federal labor laws.
  • Collaborate with firm partners and clients to develop case strategies and solutions.
  • Handle matters where criminal law experience may apply.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association or eligibility to waive in.
  • Two to four years of legal experience, with a focus on labor law preferred.
  • Experience with public sector labor unions, particularly public safety unions, is a strong plus.
  • Criminal law experience is highly desirable but not required.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small firm environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a dedication to client service.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar Association or eligibility to waive in.
