Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney in California. The ideal candidate will possess critical thinking skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. This role involves working collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently. The position requires handling various aspects of the legal process related to secured lending, including civil litigation, title litigation, and potential bankruptcy matters.

Duties

  • Conduct initial intake and analysis on files, generating strategy and budget promptly.
  • Draft civil litigation documents, including discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Review chain of title, pleadings, and foreclosure documents.
  • Make court appearances across California and provide timely client updates.
  • Field questions from staff and assist in a professional manner.
  • Write, review, and edit reports and correspondence for compliance purposes.

Requirements

  • Active membership in the CA State Bar, in good standing.
  • 2+ years of related experience in the mortgage area preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active CA State Bar membership.

Skills

  • Ability to work remotely and in-office efficiently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools like WestLaw or LexisNexis.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
