Duties

  • Manage all aspects of the legal defense of workers' compensation cases from initiation through resolution
  • Conduct discovery and handle litigation proceedings
  • Collaborate with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators on case management and strategy
  • Maintain proactive case management to meet client needs and deadlines
  • Draft and file legal documents and briefs as necessary

Requirements

  • 2-5+ years of experience in workers' compensation defense
  • Strong research, analytical, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to proactive and effective case management
  • Familiarity with Merus software is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Teams is preferred but not required

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Member of the State Bar of California in good standing
