This role is tailored for attorneys with approximately 6 to 8 years of experience who are ready to work on a diverse and sophisticated array of commercial real estate matters. The position offers the opportunity to handle high-value deals involving a wide range of property types and transaction structures. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative setting and have a keen interest in further developing expertise in real estate law through cross-border and multi-practice collaborations.

Duties:

  • Manage and lead various commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and development projects

  • Negotiate and draft complex joint venture agreements and investment structuring documents

  • Facilitate and coordinate real estate financings and loan transactions

  • Handle commercial leasing matters, including retail, industrial, and office leases

  • Assist in fund formation and real estate investment structuring

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and global practice groups on multi-jurisdictional real estate projects

  • Support clients through the full lifecycle of real estate investments across diverse asset classes

Requirements:

  • 6 -8 years of legal experience focusing on commercial real estate transactions

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects independently

  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating a wide range of real estate transaction documents

  • Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and risk management

  • Prior experience with institutional investors, REITs, or private equity-backed clients preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in good standing with the Illinois Bar, or eligibility for waiver/admission

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of real estate transaction structuring and legal frameworks

  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and client advisory capabilities

  • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

  • Ability to prioritize under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
