Job Overview:

A leading law firm in Houston, TX is seeking a bilingual Associate Attorney with a focus on immigration law. The successful candidate will manage complex immigration litigation and assist clients with various legal processes, including visas, petitions, and deportation defense. Location:

Duties:

  • Manage and litigate immigration cases, including visa petitions, deportation defense, and consular processing.
  • Advise clients on immigration concepts and develop legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including motions, waivers, petitions, and court submissions.
  • Represent clients in court, including issues related to asylum, waivers, and adjustment of status.
  • Analyze complex legal issues and provide innovative solutions for clients.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings and USCIS appointments.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance with immigration laws and provide top-level client service.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while managing sensitive case data.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in immigration law.
  • At least 2 years of court experience.
  • Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the Bar.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish (Required).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license (Required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law, including visas, petitions, waivers, and deportation defense.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and MacOS.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cases.
