Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Projects and Energy Finance Associate to join its team in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves working on significant energy transition financing matters, offering the opportunity to engage in internationally recognized projects. The position is open to candidates in any of the firm's US offices.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case preparation.
  • Draft well-reasoned legal documents, including briefs and contracts.
  • Assist in managing complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional interaction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative case strategies.
  • Participate in high-level legal activities such as negotiations and trials.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards and stay updated on legal precedents.
  • Engage in professional development to enhance legal and leadership skills.
  • Contribute to firm programs, civic organizations, and pro bono work.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in energy transition finance matters.
  • Experience in financing and M&A of energy transition projects and companies.
  • Proven experience in tax equity and renewable energy tax credit monetization.

Education

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice in the state of office location.
