Job Overview:
A law firm in Tampa, FL is seeking a skilled Civil Litigation Attorney with a strong background in managing various types of civil disputes. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience handling cases from start to finish, including discovery, trial preparation, and resolution. This position offers an opportunity to represent clients in a variety of legal matters, including business litigation, real estate disputes, and landlord/tenant conflicts.

Duties:

  • Oversee all phases of litigation, ensuring smooth progression from initial case assessment through final resolution.
  • Represent clients in disputes including business, construction defects, COA/HOA issues, municipal violations, and landlord/tenant matters.
  • Lead and execute settlement negotiations, utilizing advanced strategies to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Manage motions practice by preparing compelling legal arguments and submitting motions to court.
  • Represent clients at key legal proceedings, such as depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Depending on location, in-person attendance may be required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing civil litigation, including pleadings, discovery, and trial work.
  • Experience in business litigation, construction defects, COA/HOA disputes, and landlord/tenant issues is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Florida Civil Procedure and its application in litigation.
  • Proven track record in effective client communication and advocacy throughout the legal process.
  • Experience in alternative dispute resolution, including negotiations and mediation.
  • Ability to devise and implement effective legal strategies tailored to each case.
  • Active member of the Florida Bar with a valid license to practice in Florida.
  • Exceptional legal writing and research skills, especially in crafting motions and persuasive legal arguments.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Current license to practice law in the State of Florida.

Skills:

  • Litigation management from inception to trial.
  • Legal writing, research, and persuasive argumentation.
  • Client communication and strategic negotiation.
  • Knowledge of Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Dispute resolution, including mediations and arbitrations.
