Professional Liability Attorney

A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking an experienced Professional Liability Attorney to manage a diverse caseload involving professional liability matters. The ideal candidate will handle cases from inception through resolution, including communicating with clients, taking and defending depositions, and participating in trials. The attorney will focus on malpractice cases and claims against various professionals, such as attorneys, insurance agents/brokers, accountants, and real estate agents.

Duties:

• Manage a full litigation caseload, handling cases from inception through resolution.
• Communicate regularly with clients, providing status reports and legal updates.
• Take and defend depositions of witnesses and parties involved.
• Participate in trials, including preparing and presenting evidence and arguments.
• Handle a wide array of professional liability matters, including malpractice cases and claims against attorneys, insurance agents/brokers, accountants, and real estate agents.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Collaborate with experts and consultants to build strong case strategies.
• Negotiate settlements and advise clients on legal strategies and options.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in California.
• 4-12 years of experience in business litigation, with a preference for experience in legal malpractice, accounting malpractice, and/or other professional liability matters.
• Superior academic credentials.

Education:

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of California.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Proven experience in managing complex litigation cases.
• Ability to effectively take and defend depositions.
• Experience in trial preparation and courtroom procedures.
