Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Litigation Attorney in Charlotte, NC. The candidate must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina, with additional state licensures preferred. The ideal candidate will have experience in foreclosure law, bankruptcy, litigation, and a general understanding of property law.

Duties

  • Manage litigation caseload, including probate, title curative, wrongful foreclosure, and eviction matters.
  • Handle cases from referral through disposition, settlement, or verdict, and attend court hearings.
  • Prepare and review legal documents for accuracy, including court filings and correspondence.
  • Resolve title issues and complete necessary curative actions for clear title.
  • Provide legal advice and research applicable statutes and case law.

Requirements

  • Maintain knowledge of state laws and civil procedure; federal court practice is a plus.
  • Experience in real estate, mortgage, or commercial litigation preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, and applicable debt collection and property law is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to travel as needed.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar.

  • Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
