Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Renewable Energy Tax Associate in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate will join a team dedicated to advancing renewable energy projects, providing comprehensive legal support from inception to completion. The role involves navigating regulatory frameworks and structuring transactions to maximize tax and energy incentives.

Duties

  • Assist clients with tax issues related to renewable energy transactions.
  • Advise on construction, wage, and apprenticeship requirements under relevant tax codes.
  • Support M&A transactions, tax equity transactions, and joint ventures.
  • Conduct diligence on real property, regulatory, and project documents.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm or Big 4 accounting firm.
  • Experience with tax credit transactions and tax equity financings preferred.
  • Excellent academic credentials required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
  • LL.M. in taxation highly preferred.

Certifications

  • Bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
