A law firm seeks a highly experienced Estate and Tax Planning Attorney in Dallas, Texas. The position offers leadership opportunities within a growing private client services practice.

Duties

  • Advise high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning.
  • Draft complex estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and family limited partnerships.
  • Provide tax-efficient strategies for wealth transfer, charitable giving, and business succession planning.
  • Collaborate with financial advisors, accountants, and fiduciaries on client matters.
  • Assist with probate and trust administration, including tax return review and dispute resolution.
  • Stay current on developments in tax law and estate planning legislation affecting clients.

Requirements

  • 16 years of legal experience focused on estate planning, wealth transfer, and tax law.
  • Demonstrated experience working with high-net-worth individuals and complex estate structures.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Texas.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes related to estates, gifts, and trusts.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active member of the Texas State Bar.
  • LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning (preferred but not required).
  • Board Certification in Estate Planning and Probate Law (preferred, if applicable).

Skills

  • Deep understanding of estate and gift tax law, trust structures, and charitable planning.
  • Strong drafting and legal research capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
