Job Overview
A law firm based in Denver, CO is seeking a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in affordable housing and real estate finance transactions. Duties

  • Lead and manage multifaceted affordable housing and real estate finance deals from initiation to close

  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents including loan agreements, partnership agreements, and regulatory filings

  • Conduct thorough due diligence, including title, survey, and organizational reviews

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on affordable housing incentives, including LIHTC (4% and 9%)

  • Advise clients on acquisition, disposition, refinancing, and development matters

  • Collaborate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and third-party stakeholders to ensure smooth execution

  • Spot potential legal issues early in the deal lifecycle and propose practical solutions

  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local housing regulations

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of legal practice experience with a concentration in affordable housing finance and development

  • Demonstrated experience with LIHTC transactions, including closing, acquisition, disposition, and exit strategies

  • Experience representing a range of parties such as nonprofit and for-profit developers, investors, and lenders

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple transactions simultaneously

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including drafting complex documents and client correspondence

  • Ability to adapt in a deadline-driven, high-volume legal practice

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited and nationally recognized law school

Certifications

  • Admission to the Colorado Bar (or ability to obtain promptly)
