Job Overview:
A prestigious Boston-based law firm is seeking a Family Law Associate with approximately 3-6 years of experience in complex family law and possible probate litigation. This position offers an opportunity to develop an active trial practice while managing a varied caseload, which includes direct contact with clients, courts, experts, and other counsel. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong writing skills, financial acumen, and the ability to work effectively in Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts.

Location:

Duties:

  • Manage a complex family law and probate litigation caseload, including divorce, custody, and asset division matters.

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in family law cases.

  • Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and settlement agreements.

  • Appear in Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.

  • Work closely with clients, courts, experts, and other counsel to develop case strategies.

  • Assist with case preparation and manage discovery processes.

  • Support and develop an active trial practice in family law and related areas.

  • Build and maintain client relationships through regular communication and support.

Requirements:

  • Approximately 3-6 years of experience in complex family law and probate litigation.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex family law matters, including financial and custody issues.

  • Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.

  • Experience practicing in Massachusetts Probate and Family Courts.

  • Financial acumen to handle asset division, support calculations, and related family law matters.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with clients and colleagues.

  • Desire to support and develop a growing trial practice.

  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload with direct client contact.

  • Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in family law and probate litigation.

  • Strong financial analysis skills related to family law cases.

  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong client management skills and the ability to build relationships.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when needed.
