Job Overview

A law firm seeks a full-time Associate Attorney specializing in Elder Law to join their team in Orlando, FL. This role is ideal for recent law school graduates or those set to graduate within six months, with a strong interest in elder law and a commitment to serving aging populations and their families.

Duties

  • Represent clients in probate, guardianship, and estate planning matters under supervision.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, and related documents.
  • Attend court hearings and participate in case strategy meetings.
  • Conduct legal research and communicate with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel.
  • Collaborate closely with paralegals and legal assistants to move cases efficiently through all stages.

Requirements

  • Law degree from a fully accredited law school or expected graduation within 6 months.
  • Participation in an Elder Law Clinic or internship involving probate or guardianship preferred.
  • Strong academic record and demonstrated interest in elder law.
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Must be a member in good standing with the Florida Bar or ability to sit for the next Florida Bar exam.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish, a plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

  • Florida Bar membership or eligibility to sit for the exam.
